A small account is written at the end of Proverbs 24 of an unkempt and neglected field overgrown with thorns, nettles and a variety of undesirable weeds. Solomon says four things in verse 32. First, he sees the untidy vineyard, he then considers it. He looks again and finally receives instruction .
How often do we look at a situation in our lives without taking time to consider its implications; never to let it rest for a few days or to look at it a second time . We dive headlong into a contract, a purchase, or a relationship without an ounce of deliberation.
The word 'consider' is from Latin meaning; 'to examine'; to look patiently and carefully. You weigh the merits of the matter, focus keenly on all its aspects and probabilities.
Jesus said to his disciple one day, 'Consider even the lilies, how they grow.'
Look at all things, ponder them, take another look and receive instruction.
